Art Tour in 2 Weeks on the High Road to Taos

Fall is fast approaching and so it the annual High Road Art Tour. In just two short weeks artists' studios will be open all up and down the High Road from Chimayo To Placitas. For the past 13 years our tour has been a favorite for New Mexico residents and for vacationers alike, and this year will be no different. Tour dates are Sept 17 and 18, and Sept 24 and 25.

My Bio

Unlike many artists I didn't begin consistently making images until my mid 30's. The two dimensional surface fascinated me. I started with water colors, a natural choice of medium in the watery Pacific Northwest. While living in Seattle I developed a language of image-making that has stayed with me since.

When I moved to the mountains of northern New Mexico in 2007, my world and my artwork opened up in ways I never imagined. Here is a land of high mountain air, abundant sun, striking visual landscape and strong cultural influences. Immediately my colors became bold. My surrounding environment, under a brilliant sky, surrounded by untold natural beauty, sustains plants and animals and the dance of their inter-relationships that inform the works that I now create.
