Opening Saturday, May 2 is an exciting exhibit I am happy to be part of. Members of the Encaustic Art Institute, artists who work in wax mediums, have invited other artists to work in collaboration with them for this exhibit. Harriette Tsosie, Belinda Edwards and I are presenting two new works. One is a three dimensional piece entitled, "When Crow Mother Came" and incorporates three different visions of Crow Mother and her bringing of the bean sprouts in a symbolic spring ritual. In keeping with that vision we created a wall piece that invokes the idea of spring and new cyclical beginnings. After photographing the pieces in their entirety next week, I will also post those images. Hope you can visit the exhibit.
